Economic Stimulus in North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Commerce Division of Community Services will be receiving an estimated $68.7 million from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Guidelines for the stimulus dollars and programs they will impact are still being determined. Additional information on Stimulus funding is available on the following pages:

Community Services Block Grant Recovery Act (CSBG) - The CSBG Program's primary purpose is to assist communities in implementing locally designed anti-poverty programs, and to address the needs of the low income population through the seven Community Action Agencies.

Community Development Block Grant Recovery - The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs.

Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing - The recently signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes funds for homeless prevention and rapid re-housing.

State Energy Program's (SEP) The State Energy Program's (SEP) mission is to promote energy conservation and efficiency, and reduce the rate of growth of energy demand by developing and implementing a comprehensive plan.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) - The EECBG Program was a grant awarded by the Department of Energy (DOE). The purpose of the EECBG Program was to: reduce fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use, and improve energy efficiency.

Weatherization - The Department of Energy's Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program works to increase the energy efficiency of homes owned or occupied by low-income persons, reducing their total residential energy expenditures, and improving their health and safety.

State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) - SEEARP provided rebates to replace old, inefficient refrigerators. The program is now over.
