EmPower North Dakota Commission Information

The 60th North Dakota Legislative Assembly through House Bill 1462 established an energy policy commission "…for the purpose of developing a comprehensive energy policy for the state…" The legislation specifies that the commission shall meet at least six times "or as often as the members deem necessary to complete the development of the comprehensive energy policy." It also requires that the commission hold at least two public hearings before June 1, 2008.

The completion of this comprehensive energy policy is a complex task because there are so many facets to North Dakota's energy industry and potential industry development. The process of putting together the comprehensive energy policy document will consist of three distinct phases: information gathering & public input, analysis of the information, and policy development. The meetings outlined below reflect that three-phase process.

As the agendas, minutes, and appendices become available they will be posted for the respective meetings. The posted agendas will include the times and locations for the upcoming meetings.
